Revitalizing our Neighborhoods
In 2013, we partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Utah County to engage our community in efforts to revitalize our neighborhoods. These efforts are supported with funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This funding is specific to CDBG-eligible neighborhoods as directed by HUD.
Our goal is to create a concentrated visual impact, recognizing the positive impact that individual and collective improvements can have on the overall appearance, quality and vitality of a neighborhood and community. This program invites neighbors to work together to identify projects on a common block and improve the physical conditions and positive image of the neighborhood. As part of an overall revitalization strategy, the intended outcome is to stimulate private investment, encourage new, affordable home ownership and maintain the existing housing stock.
An important element of our revitalization efforts is our down-payment assistance programs. Down-payment assistance is available for home owners at various income levels through the Provo City Redevelopment Agency. More information regarding the down-payment assistance programs is available by contacting the Provo City Redevelopment Agency at (801) 852-6160.
Training is available to all interested Provo residents. This training provides valuable tools to help reach out and create open dialogues in neighborhoods.
